Your calculations.
Private by design.
Every mathematical operation on MathTools runs locally in your web browser. Your inputs, graphs, and equations are never sent to an external math service. We keep our architecture as simple as possible to minimize the surface area for attacks and data collection.
The short version
These are the six core controls that apply whether you use a tool anonymously or hold an account.
Local Execution
The math engine runs in your browser via JavaScript. No numbers are sent to a backend API to be calculated.
Encrypted in Transit
All communication with our servers (login, saving history, contact forms) is encrypted using standard HTTPS/TLS.
Temporary by Design
Guest history is held only in your browser's memory and clears on reload. Logged-in history is capped at 100 items.
Accounts Hardened
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Sessions use HTTP-only, secure JWT cookies to prevent XSS and CSRF attacks.
Zero Tracking
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party trackers. Your usage is not monitored.
Data Isolation
We will never sell, rent, or share your email address or saved calculation history with any third party.
1 Encryption in transit
Everything that moves between your browser and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. This includes authentication requests, saving calculation history, and sending messages through our contact form. The application is hosted on a secure cloud infrastructure that automatically provisions and renews SSL certificates for the domain. No data is ever transmitted in plain text.
2 Data storage and deletion
- • Guest calculations: Processed entirely in your browser's memory. If you reload the page or close the tab, the history is immediately destroyed.
- • Account calculations: If you create an account, your recent calculations are stored in our database. We cap this at 100 items to minimize data retention.
- • Contact form messages: When you contact us, your name, email, and message are encrypted in transit and delivered directly to our support inbox. This data is not stored in our main user database.
- • Deletion on demand: You can clear your calculation history at any time from the Account page. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our systems.
3 Accounts and sign-in
- • Passwords are hashed: We use bcrypt to hash passwords before they are saved. Even we cannot see your password.
- • HTTP-only cookies: Your session is stored using a secure, HTTP-only JSON Web Token (JWT) cookie. This prevents malicious scripts from stealing your login token via XSS.
- • Rate limiting: Login attempts are monitored to prevent brute-force password guessing and protect account integrity.
4 Where data is processed
The MathTools calculation engine runs 100% on the client side (your browser). The server is only used for authentication, saving calculation history, and routing contact messages. The database stores only your email, hashed password, and recent calculation history. We do not log your IP address or device information.
5 What we don't do
- • We do not use advertising trackers or Google Analytics.
- • We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third party.
- • We do not ask for your credit card information, because MathTools is 100% free.
